NONLOCALITY

Released May, 2008

This 6th release and 5th full-length album completes The Rusty Nails' minimum requirements to the Universe.  This is an album which takes you on an internal/external journey which bursts at the seams.  This record has a kind of movie soundtrack feel to it but does intersplice some anachronistic bagpipe indie rock songs which could be deemed "radio-friendly" (whatever that means).  It features a cover of Big Country's "Harvest Home."  The CDs are your normal manufactured pressed CDs but the booklets are cut and folded by yours truly out of 100% recycled posterboard.  The first 50 orders get an original painting painted on the cover (similar to design on your left).  In other words, no two covers are the same!  This also makes for a great mantlepiece!  All CDs also come with a booklet inside with an interesting narrative which has the lyrics embedded within it.  This is now available at CDBABY.

THE NEW COLONY

Released July, 2004

This will be the fifth release and fourth full-length album of The Rusty Nails.  The same bagpipe-guitar-bass-drum-percussive-piano-miscellaneous interdependent experimental chemistry are present once again, but this time against a futuristic backdrop.  This album explores humankind's potential, it's evolution, and the answers yet to be discovered.  Perhaps the ghost of Buckminster Fuller wafted through the studio during the recording or maybe 2001: A Space Odyssey was viewed one too many times.  For better or for worse, The Rusty Nails have apparently taken a completely different route towards a strange new soundscape without forgetting where they came from.

Available at CDBABY

 VESTIGES

Released November, 2002.

This record was and still is dedicated to all of the victims of 9/11 and to their friends and families.  Some of the songs were written in response to what happened on 9/11 and proved to be an effective form of therapy for yours truly, having only been two blocks away when the buildings began to collapse.  This was the last album recorded by The Rusty Nails when they were still in a rock-band format and is without a doubt the band's most energetic and dynamically emotional effort.  If you have to buy one record by The Rusty Nails, Vestiges is it.  Originally (as is stated on the back tray card) half of the proceeds went to the Red Cross which was honored but as of December 22nd, 2007, the proceeds will go towards the FealGood Foundation to help many of the first responders who are now dying from the toxic dust.

                                                                                                                           Now also available at CDBABY!

Herding Cats Volume I - Brett Alexander Boye

This is a collection of acoustic songs recorded on a 4-track.  Until now, this record has never before been formally released even though all of its content was recorded in the year 2000 and prior.  This album was influenced by Johnny Cash, The Dirty Three, Tom Waits and Springsteen's Nebraska to kind of give you an idea.  It contains the more appropriate version of "The Statue's River" which was originally massacred on the first Rusty Nails record.  This record is NOT a rocker!   Please note, this is only available on CDR.

                                                                                                                                       $5.00 (postage paid)

Currently, only available directly from yours truly.  If interested, please email me at Brett@therustynails.net.

OUT OF PRINT RELEASES Available Online

(Emusic, iTunes, Joey's bleedin downloads, etc etc, it's all over the place, you get the idea)

The Rusty Nails/Aftertax Split album   (originally released 2000)

Two bands each with 5-song eps decided to combine their efforts into one full robust and rotund CD.  However, the CD is currently in the 'out-of-print' file but is, as mentioned above, available online for download.  Aftertax is a cross between Devo and the Police and yes, the one-and-only legend of "Sockboy" lives on in this excursion.  The Rusty Nails tracks give the impression that they may have had a little bit too much fun on this recording.  Their EP contains their version of the classic "When The Saints Go Marchin' In," as well as the Otis Redding classic "That's How Strong My Love Is."

No Miracles In Ruins - The Rusty Nails   (originally released in 1999)

This was the second full-length album and release of The Rusty Nails.  Contains the tracks "Clockmaker" and "This Dirty Water" which were fan favorites back in the day.  Yup! You guessed it!  This album is out of print and is now only available online for download.

   Self-titled - The Rusty Nails (1996 or 1997)

This is were it all began.  This "demo" record, as I like to put it, has it's moments but frankly is a comedy of errors.  Oh yes, it is for the most part out of print.  Rumor has it, that you could find it on ebay and yes, for download online.  Suggested tracks to download:    "Ann Passes Me By" and/or "Did You Let That One Get Away"
